Success without the spotlight

I have seen it too many times. Entrepreneurs who became successful and let success get into their head. They are lauded by the media and surrounded by people patting them on the back.

Once you let success get into your head, you think that every move that you do is gold. You feel like you have the Midas touch. You don’t seek honest feedback anymore. Since you are used to people praising you, every form of criticism is now a slap on the face. You dislike criticism because you now think you are better than everyone else.

The alternative path is to be successful but quiet. Do the work without the applause. Do the work in silence. You succeed, enjoy life with your family and friends, and live peacefully. There is absolutely no need to seek validation. You already succeeded. So why do you need a pat on the back?
